Launch a rewarding career

TAFE Queensland East Coast provides an innovative, collaborative and inclusive face to face training program for people wanting to study Cert III in Individual Support (Disability specialisation).

Students from the Maroochydore campus collaborate with our Access and Equity program for students with a disability. We have designed an inclusive mentoring program that supplements our face to face class work. In addition, industry staff provide further mentoring by providing information on current industry standards and practices. Past Certificate III students acknowledge they are equally mentored and supported by the Access students and have learned so much by developing real peer relationships with the Access students.

It also enables the teachers to assess students in a simulated supported workplace. Students are also required to complete a further vocational placement in industry at the end of classes. Graduating students enter industry with more confidence due to the higher practical component of this course. Our local industry acknowledges the calibre of our students: “SPIRAL, as an organisation, has been extremely impressed with the high quality attributes of the TAFE East Coast students who have completed their practicum placements with us. We have been impressed with the students’ sound grounding in person centeredness, their respectful engagement with service users, and enthusiasm and openness to learning new skills. In addition, we have found the students to be professional, very good at time management as well as demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in their roles. Spiral would certainly consider employing students where recruitment opportunities may come up."

So join us for a unique learning experience that will provide you with knowledge, skills and industry contacts that you need to launch your career. Course details

Payment Plan

If you have difficulty paying the full cost of a course up front you might be eligible for a payment plan. This will allow you to pay for your course in instalments, rather than one upfront payment at the time of enrolment.

Subsidised

The Queensland Government will offset the cost of study for eligible students. You will still need to pay for a portion of your study costs. The amount above is what you will need to pay.

Certificate 3 Guarantee

You can receive a subsidy funded by the Queensland Government towards one certificate III qualification from a list of eligible courses. The amount provided depends on the demand for skilled workers in your chosen industry.

You're eligible for the Certificate 3 Guarantee if you:

  • are 15 years or older and no longer in school
  • live in Queensland full time
  • are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or temporary resident with the necessary visa or work permits
  • and don't currently have (or are enrolled in) a certificate 3 or higher level qualification.

Give us a call to find out more.

Please note: As part of your enrolment into a Certificate 3 Guarantee program you will need to complete a student survey.

If you're a Queensland resident, have just finished year 12 and are keen to start your studies within the next calendar year, you might be eligible to study fee free!

The Queensland government has identified a number of industries with a high demand for trained workers. To help fill these gaps, they will pay the full cost of a number of certificate III qualifications in high-priority study areas under the Certificate 3 Guarantee and User Choice programs. We want school leavers to gain the important skills and training they need before starting their university studies or careers - debt-free. For more info, check out the Training Queensland website, or call TAFE Queensland East Coast on 1300 656 188.

Concession

You are eligible for the concession price of a course if you are eligible for subsidised training, and are listed on an Australian Government Low Income Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, if you are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, you hold a Department of Veterans' Affairs Pensioner Concession Card, or if you have a disability.
