Get your career on track with a TAFE traineeship

The trainee undertaking this role will prepare patients for oral examination assist dental operators such as Dentists, Dental Therapists and Dental Hygienists, in providing treatment to teeth, mouth and gums. Dentist assistance mainly carry out chair side duties and may perform the following tasks:

- record filing from the oral examination
- provide instruments and dispense materials as directed by the operator
- maintain and re-stock dental supplies
- clean and sterilise, and
- answer the telephone and perform other duties as directed Course details

Apprenticeships and traineeships combine both structured and workplace training with paid employment. They can be full-time, part-time, or school-based and provide an attractive yet practical manner to achieve your technical trade trading.

To study an apprenticeship or traineeship program students must be indentured as an apprentice or trainee with their employer.

It is recommended that students have access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland East Coast's online learning system, and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash Player.
