This program provides a set of skills for assisting with medication administration and must be applied strictly in accordance with legislation, regulations, government policy, and industry guidelines. Endorsed by industry as appropriate for people who hold a community services or health qualification at Certificate III level or higher, or commensurate industry skills as evaluated through recognition of prior learning processes. Entry requirements

You must hold a current community services or health qualification at Certificate III level or higher, AND be employed as a ‘Personal Carer’ within the Aged Care Industry in order to enrol. This Skill Set is not available to Assistants in Nursing (AINs) or unendorsed Enrolled Nurses (ENs).

Resources required

General writing materials are required.

Recommended textbook (not a requirement) 'Havards Nursing Guide to Drugs' by Adriana Tiziani, 8th Edition.


Flexible delivery: Printed resource and written assessment.

Students will have a total of 9 weeks to complete this course. 4 weeks for the written portion and 5 weeks to complete the practical tasks. A 1 hour workshops must also be completed in week 4.
