Course Entry Requirements
It is recommended students have successfully completed year 10 (or equivalent),  or have relevant experience and/or qualifications that indicate likely success in completing the course.It is recommended you are 18 years of age as onsite event work is required.

Resources required

It is recommended that students have access to a reliable internet connection to access TAFE Queensland's East Coast's online learning system, and a computer with up-to-date software, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash Player.

This equipment and software is available for students to use at all TAFE Queensland locations.

Tuesday's and Wednesdays:  8:30am - 4:00pm

Students should expect to spend at least a minimum of sixteen (8) hours of Theory Study per week plus assessments plus participate in a minimum of three (3) live industry events for practical observation.
Total Student Commitment would be a minimum of 20 hours per week over the length of the course.

Please note: Refer to the Relevant Resources section for a detailed Timetable. The timetable for future intakes may differ to the current schedule.

Placement

You will be required to organise your attendance and participation in at least 3 live events and  to meet the practical components of this program. More information in regards to registration for Events will be advised during Orientation.

Important Information

This program is subject to the completion of assessment work and practical hands on experience. You will be required to participate at Industry Events organised by your facilitator. Some weekends will be required.

Further Study:  If you want to go on to further study at university, TAFE Queensland has a pathway option to get you there. In many cases, completing one of our diplomas will give you a full year of credit towards a degree with one of our partner universities. That means cutting down the amount of time you need to complete your degree, or even enrolling straight into the second year of your university course.

Payment Plan

If you have difficulty paying the full cost of a course up front you might be eligible for a payment plan. This will allow you to pay for your course in instalments, rather than one upfront payment at the time of enrolment.

Subsidised

The Queensland Government will offset the cost of study for eligible students. You will still need to pay for a portion of your study costs. The amount above is what you will need to pay.

Certificate 3 Guarantee

You can receive a subsidy funded by the Queensland Government towards one certificate III qualification from a list of eligible courses. The amount provided depends on the demand for skilled workers in your chosen industry.

You're eligible for the Certificate 3 Guarantee if you:

  • are 15 years or older and no longer in school
  • live in Queensland full time
  • are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or temporary resident with the necessary visa or work permits
  • and don't currently have (or are enrolled in) a certificate 3 or higher level qualification.
