Under the Food Act 2006 (the Act), every licensable food business in Queensland must have a Food Safety Supervisor.
Food businesses required to complete the Food Safety Supervisor Training are divided into three sectors; hospitality and retail, health and community services and the food processing sector. TAFE Queensland East Coast offers training for people working in the hospitality sector (restaurants, cafes) and the health and community services sector.
TAFE Queensland East Coast offer the hospitality stream for this face to face delivery. The following units SITXFSA001 and SITXFSA002 meet the requirements for a Food Safety Supervisor in Queensland – see link (Food Industry Fact Sheet 18 Feb 2016 Queensland Health Food Safety Supervisors).
Food businesses who are interested in participating in training for the Community Services and Health Sector will need to contact the trainer for this course to discuss your options.
