Financial Support and Student Loans

If you don't have the funds to pay for your course at time of enrolment, you can consider one of these options.

VET Student Loans

The Australian Government has reviewed the VET FEE-HELP scheme.

A new program called VET Student Loans will commence from 1 January 2017.

You can view the list of approved courses that attract a VET Student Loan on the VET Student Loan website.

If you are eligible, you will be able to apply for a VET Student Loan from 1 January 2017. If you have already been receiving VET FEE-HELP you will still receive it next year while you complete your course.

We will be in touch with all students who are already receiving VET FEE-HELP or have enrolled to study a diploma or above program in 2017 to explain the changes.

If you would like more information please contact our Customer Service Centre.

TAFE Queensland East Coast students can now access VET FEE-HELP, a loan from the Federal Government to cover the cost of tuition fees for approved programs. This means you can study now, gain the qualification you need to get the new job or promotion, and pay back the loan when you can afford it.

Payment Plans

TAFE Queensland East Coast offers an interest free payment plan option to approved students allowing them to pay off their fees in instalments over the duration of their study. Terms and conditions apply, and payment plans are only offered through Direct Bank Debit contracts.

To apply for a payment plan you will need to visit Customer Service Centre and bring all of the following documentation:

  • official photo ID (passport, driver's license or 18+ card)
  • If you are under 18 you will need a person over 18 years of age to act as your Loan Guarantor and they must provide photo ID also.
  • Evidence of bank account details for direct debit contract.

Please note: The payment plan option is not available for programs running less than 4 weeks.

Enrolling Online and Payment Plans

You can still apply for a payment plan if you enrol online. Just select the 'Pay In Person' option when finalising your enrolment and then come into the campus to process your payment plan application.
